Vijay’s highly anticipated film Jana Nayagan and Yash’s much-hyped Toxic, both under the KVN Productions banner, are at the center of a major crisis for the production house. KVN Productions, an ambitious venture from real estate giant Prestige Group, had aimed to make a grand mark in Indian cinema with these two big-budget movies, but unforeseen setbacks have put nearly ₹1000 crore at risk.

Jana Nayagan, featuring Vijay, wrapped up filming on schedule and within its planned budget last year. However, the film hit a roadblock with censor clearance, and a subsequent leak online caused further damage. According to reports, these issues led Amazon Prime to withdraw from a digital rights deal, resulting in significant financial losses for the producers. The film’s release now remains in limbo, awaiting a censor certificate.

Meanwhile, Yash’s Toxic saw its production stretched by more than a year, forcing the team into costly reshoots and pushing the budget to nearly double initial estimates. Although a June 4th release was initially set, the date has now been postponed indefinitely, with no official update from the makers.

As interest costs surge and future projects are affected, KVN Productions is under immense financial pressure. The company is reportedly banking on the eventual release of both films to relieve some of this mounting stress, but for now, uncertainty continues to cloud their prospects.
