Superstar Mahesh Babu’s AMB Classic Sudarshan is set to make history by bringing the iconic IMAX experience back to Hyderabad. This move marks a significant milestone for the city’s movie buffs, who have awaited the return of this cinematic format since the closing of Prasad’s IMAX in 2015.
Mahesh Babu, who has enjoyed a streak of successful films and continues to expand his footprint in entertainment, co-owns AMB Cinemas alongside Asian Cinemas. The upcoming IMAX with Laser at AMB Classic is a result of a collaboration between IMAX Corporation and Asian Cinemas, with Hyderabad chosen as the first of three new IMAX locations planned in India under the AMB brand.
Asian Cinemas’ Suniel Narang and Bharat Narang expressed their excitement, stating, “Hyderabad’s appetite and love for cinema is unparalleled, and bringing back the prestigious IMAX format to Hyderabad is a matter of great honour and pride for AMB Cinemas.” Giovanni Dolci, chief commercial officer of IMAX, emphasized Hyderabad’s importance, remarking on the city’s strong demand for premium movie experiences.
The AMB Classic IMAX is targeted to open before the end of 2026, generating significant anticipation among cinephiles. Fans can look forward to a new era of blockbuster screenings in world-class grandeur as the launch date approaches.
