Mani Ratnam Wraps Inji Vellam Shoot in Record Time, Sets Sankranthi Release

Mani Ratnam, the acclaimed Kollywood director known for his meticulous filmmaking, has completed shooting his latest project, Inji Vellam, at an impressive pace. The film, starring Vijay Sethupathi and Sai Pallavi, is described as a romantic drama set against the backdrop of Kolkata. Production began on July 23rd, and the entire shoot was wrapped up in less than three months—a feat that stands out in an industry where delays and budget overruns have become common.

While many young directors struggle to stick to schedules, resulting in financial strain for producers, Mani Ratnam's approach to Inji Vellam has been notably efficient. The director's ability to plan and execute the project without interruptions has drawn admiration, with industry sources noting that "Mani Ratnam is an inspiration as he is working on a jet speed at this age."

The film is produced under Mani Ratnam's own banner, and both Vijay Sethupathi and Sai Pallavi are balancing multiple projects, making the swift completion even more remarkable. Inji Vellam is slated for a theatrical release during the Sankranthi festival season, with an official release date expected soon. This gives the team ample time for post-production, ensuring the film is polished ahead of its festive debut.

With the shoot completed well ahead of schedule, attention now turns to the post-production phase and the upcoming Sankranthi release, as fans await further updates on this eagerly awaited romantic drama.
