Mollywood legend Mohanlal has approached the Delhi High Court to safeguard his personality and publicity rights, just months before the release of his highly anticipated film, Drishyam 3. Known for his compelling performances and a career spanning decades, Mohanlal is gearing up for the May 21, 2026 release of this third installment directed by Jeethu Joseph, coinciding with the actor's birthday.
The legal plea focuses on preventing the unauthorized use of Mohanlal’s name, image, voice, and likeness, particularly in AI-generated and commercial content. This move aligns him with other prominent film personalities like Amitabh Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who have taken similar stands to protect their digital identities. Justice Jyoti Singh is scheduled to hear the case, highlighting the growing concerns celebrities face in the era of artificial intelligence.
Alongside Drishyam 3, which features a stellar cast including Meena, Ansiba Hassan, and Siddique, Mohanlal is also involved in the political thriller Patriot. Directed by Mahesh Narayanan, Patriot stars Mohanlal as Col Rahim Naik and features co-stars Fahadh Faasil, Nayanthara, and Mammootty, adding to the actor’s packed slate.
Fans and industry insiders eagerly await Drishyam 3, hoping the legal safeguards will ensure the actor's image remains protected amid evolving digital challenges. With the court hearing imminent, all eyes are on Mohanlal’s next big cinematic and legal moves.
