Mythri Movie Makers, the powerhouse behind recent blockbusters and collaborations with stars like Prabhas, NTR, and Allu Arjun, has decided to put several mid-range films on pause. This move comes at a time when the production house is navigating tough market conditions and pivoting its strategy.
In the wake of a few box office setbacks and a noticeable dip in non-theatrical revenue streams, Mythri is choosing to concentrate on high-budget, star-led ventures. The ongoing commitments with actors such as Varun Tej, Sharwanand, and Nithiin have been affected, with reports indicating that these projects are being shelved or seeking new producers. For instance, Sharwanand's next film with director Srinu Vaitla has moved to Anil Sunkara's banner, while Varun Tej's AI-themed love story, directed by Vikram Sirikonda, is now on indefinite hold. Nithiin's proposals have also been set aside for the time being.
Despite this pause, Mythri Movie Makers continues to invest heavily in marquee projects including Prabhas' 'Fauzi', NTR's 'Dragon', and Allu Arjun's upcoming film with Lokesh Kanagaraj. The production house is also planning future films with Mahesh Babu and Pawan Kalyan. As per sources, "This is a decent move at this tough time."
Fans and industry watchers are keenly observing which new collaborations Mythri will announce next, especially as the studio re-aligns its focus toward big-ticket entertainers.
