Prabhas starrer Kalki 2898 AD’s sequel, directed by Nag Ashwin, is set to move forward with shooting scheduled to begin as early as August or September. Riding high on the phenomenal box office success of the first film, expectations for Kalki 2 are surging among fans and industry watchers alike.
Nag Ashwin, who is also currently promoting Singeetam Srinivasa Rao’s Sing Geetham, provided a significant update during the film’s post-release promotions. "We might start the regular shoot either in August or September. That’s the update for now. Hopefully, we will work for a long stretch and complete most of the filming. Most of it has already been prepped, and the writing is done. So, it will be a much faster process," the director stated.
The sequel is already generating buzz due to changes in the cast. Deepika Padukone will not return, reportedly due to creative differences, sparking speculation that Alia Bhatt could join the project. Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan are set to continue their pivotal roles, adding to the anticipation surrounding the film’s next chapter.
Reflecting on his work style, Nag Ashwin shared, "Definitely, I get worked up and upset. But I try not to project it onto the people around me... Everyone is working their butt off for your vision. It’s very easy to shout at an assistant or a manager. I try to solve the problem." His balanced approach is winning respect from both colleagues and film lovers.
With pre-production nearly complete and the director’s calm leadership guiding the way, Kalki 2 is gearing up for an ambitious production phase. Fans can look forward to more updates as the film heads into its next schedule.
