Virat Karrna’s fantasy extravaganza Nagabandham, helmed by director Abhishek Nama, has experienced a dramatic turnaround after the team released a trimmed version of the film. Known for his ambitious visual storytelling, Abhishek Nama aimed high with this project, supported by producers Kishore Annapureddy and Nishitha Nagireddy who invested heavily in its lavish sets and state-of-the-art VFX.
Upon its initial release, Nagabandham received mixed reviews, with many audience members pointing to its lengthy runtime as a major drawback. Responding swiftly to feedback, the makers edited out several segments, leading to a sharper and more engaging narrative that has since won over moviegoers. Social media is abuzz with praise for the film’s improved pacing, while the breathtaking visuals and grandeur remain a highlight.
Veteran actor Jagapathi Babu, addressing criticism over the runtime, stated, “Nagabandham was unfairly targeted, with excessive focus on its runtime overshadowing its strengths.” He commended the team’s quick response and encouraged audiences to support the film post-trim.
Bolstered by positive word-of-mouth, Nagabandham has now crossed half a million bookings and amassed a worldwide gross of over ₹35 crore in its first week. With momentum building, all eyes are on how the film will fare in its second weekend.
