Nagarjuna Shares Why He Supported Telangana-Themed Pallaburusu

Akkineni Nagarjuna, known for his versatile roles and production ventures, recently opened up about his decision to back the film Pallaburusu. The movie, produced under the Annapurna Studios banner, was released on August 14, 2023, and drew attention for its authentic Telangana backdrop.

At the pre-release event, Nagarjuna explained the motivation behind his involvement. He reflected on his career, noting that he had often worked on projects centered around Andhra culture. The shift toward a Telangana-focused story, he revealed, was sparked by a conversation with senior politician Bhatti Vikramarka. According to Nagarjuna, "The idea was first suggested to me by Bhatti Vikramarka. That conversation planted a seed in my mind, and since then, I was looking for the right story to bring Telangana’s essence to the big screen. When I heard Pallaburusu’s script, I okayed it right away."

The film's teasers generated considerable buzz ahead of release, with audiences intrigued by its rooted portrayal of Telangana life. Social media discussions reflected curiosity about how the film would capture the region’s culture and whether it would meet the expectations set by its promotional material.
