Nani’s The Paradise Faces Merchandise Backlash, Filmydice Issues Apology

Nani’s upcoming film The Paradise, which has already attracted attention for its shifting release dates, is now in the spotlight due to a controversy surrounding its official merchandise. The film, produced by SLV Cinemas and featuring a cast that includes Kayadu Lohar, Mohan Babu, Sampoornesh Babu, and Tanikella Bharani, is set for a pan-Indian release on September 24, 2026, with music by Anirudh Ravichander.

The latest issue erupted online after promotional material for The Paradise merchandise appeared with a price tag of ₹25,000, sparking criticism across social media platforms. Many users questioned the pricing and the decision to launch such high-end merchandise before the film’s release. Responding to the backlash, Filmydice, the official merchandise partner, released a statement accepting full responsibility for sharing the promotional content without the prior approval of The Paradise team. The company clarified that the film’s cast and crew were not involved in the merchandise rollout, stating, "the film’s team had no prior knowledge or involvement in the activity." Filmydice confirmed that the contentious content has been removed and assured that measures are being put in place to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Earlier this year, The Paradise made headlines for multiple delays, with its release shifting from summer to August and then to a later date. Despite these setbacks, anticipation remains high, especially with Nani’s consistent track record in Telugu cinema and the involvement of celebrated composer Anirudh Ravichander. The film’s theatrical rights were previously reported to have been acquired for a significant sum, underlining the industry’s expectations.

As The Paradise approaches its scheduled September 24 release, the production team and partners are working to ensure smoother promotions and avoid further controversies.
