Nithiin, who has faced a string of box office disappointments in recent years, is making headlines with his latest project, Alias Rukmini. The film, which recently went on floors, has drawn attention not just for its cast and crew but for the actor's significant decision regarding his pay.
After a year-long break from the silver screen, Nithiin has lined up multiple projects, but Alias Rukmini stands out as it is produced by Natural Star Nani. According to reports, Nithiin has agreed to a remuneration of ₹4 crore for this film—noticeably lower than the ₹5 crore he received for Heart Attack over a decade ago. This move comes after criticism of his recent script choices and a series of underperforming films.
The actor has also committed to working exclusively on Alias Rukmini until the shoot wraps up, a rare step for a leading star. The production, led by Nani’s sister Deepthi Ghanta, aims to complete filming within a tight three-month schedule. Muralikanth, known for Dhandoraa, is directing the project.
Industry circles note that Nithiin’s willingness to compromise on his fee reflects his confidence in the script and his determination to bounce back. Alias Rukmini is expected to hit theatres early next year, with fans and trade watchers keenly awaiting its outcome.
