Nithiin's much-anticipated sci-fi collaboration with director VI Anand has reportedly been put on hold, as the actor pivots to new projects after a challenging phase at the box office.
Coming off a year-long break following the underwhelming performance of his recent releases, Robinhood and Thammudu, Nithiin had created a buzz with plans for a high-concept sci-fi entertainer alongside VI Anand. The ambitious project, initially touted for its extensive visual effects and grand scale, has hit a roadblock. Industry sources indicate that the mounting budget and ongoing uncertainty in digital, satellite, and overseas revenues prompted the makers to reconsider. As a result, the team has "decided to slow down the project due to its massive budget requirements and the current uncertainty in the non-theatrical market," as per industry buzz.
In the meantime, Nithiin has wasted no time lining up his next ventures. He has already begun shooting for a new film produced by Sithara Entertainments, aiming for a release later this year. Adding to the excitement, Nithiin has recently greenlit a comedy entertainer with Jathi Ratnalu director Anudeep KV, with scriptwork underway and production backed by People Media Factory. The shoot for this project is scheduled to commence next year, alongside another film with director Anji.
While fans were eager to witness Nithiin and VI Anand reunite, the sci-fi project now appears delayed. Nithiin's packed slate signals a dynamic comeback, and audiences can anticipate updates on his comedy outing with Anudeep KV in the coming months.
