Mohanlal-Mammootty Starrer Patriot Faces Low Buzz Despite High Budget

Mohanlal and Mammootty’s much-awaited multistarrer 'Patriot' is gearing up for release, but the film’s muted pre-release buzz has caught many by surprise. Despite boasting an ensemble cast with Fahadh Faasil and Nayanthara in pivotal roles, the film isn’t generating the level of excitement typically seen for such star-driven projects.

Director Mahesh Narayanan, known for his acclaimed storytelling in Malayalam cinema, leads the project, with additional performances by Kunchako Boban and Revathy. The movie has been crafted on a grand scale, with a reported budget of ₹140 crores, backed by Anto Joseph Film Company, Kichappus Entertainments, CR Saleem Productions, and Blue Tigers London.

Trade circles had expected significant hype, given the coming together of Mollywood legends Mohanlal and Mammootty. However, the film’s initial release date of April 23 was pushed to May 1, and industry insiders note that "there isn’t that level of excitement and anticipation among audiences that one usually expects from a star-studded project," as per reports.

With expectations now shifting to box office performance post-release, all eyes are on Patriot’s opening. Fans and industry experts alike await to see if positive word-of-mouth can turn the tide after May 1.
