Pawan Kalyan to Resume Films with OG 2 in 2027 After Political Commitments

Pawan Kalyan, currently serving as the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, has made it clear that his return to films will happen only after he fulfills his ongoing political responsibilities. The actor-turned-politician, who took a break from cinema following surgery, is now fully immersed in his government duties and has informed producers that he will not accept any acting assignments this year.

His next film project is OG 2, directed by Sujeeth. The shoot for OG 2 is scheduled to commence after summer 2027, once Sujeeth wraps up his work on Nani's Bloody Romeo. According to reports, the script for OG 2 is complete and Pawan Kalyan was pleased with Sujeeth's narration, giving the green light for the project to move forward. The pre-production work for OG 2 is already underway, but the actor has no plans to take up any other films at this time.

A previously announced collaboration with director Surendar Reddy has been put on hold, as Pawan Kalyan was not satisfied with the script despite several discussions. There are currently no talks with other directors, and he is not rushing to sign new projects. However, Pawan Kalyan remains committed to working with production houses like People Media Factory, Ram Talluri, and Mythri Movie Makers in the future.

For now, fans will have to wait until the second half of 2027 to see Pawan Kalyan back on the big screen, with OG 2 marking his much-awaited return to Telugu cinema.
