The trailer for Ram Charan's much-anticipated film Peddi has stirred lively discussions, particularly focusing on the musical score and Janhvi Kapoor's character. Ram Charan, known for his impactful roles, teams up with director Buchi Babu Sana, whose previous works have attracted attention for strong storytelling. Produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under Vriddhi Cinemas, Peddi also features a stellar cast including Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, Divyendu Sharma, and Boman Irani.
While Ram Charan's transformation in the trailer has been praised, the background score by A. R. Rahman has drawn mixed reactions. Some fans feel the music lacks the emotional punch expected, hoping the final film will feature a more compelling soundtrack. Others remain optimistic that the score will align better with the film’s mood upon release. On the other hand, Janhvi Kapoor's portrayal of Achiyamma, described by the director as a bold and emotionally layered MLA’s daughter, has sparked debate. Viewers have expressed discomfort with the character’s glamorous styling and language, arguing it does not authentically represent women from the Uttarandhra region.
This is Janhvi’s second Telugu film after Devara, where she was noted more for glamour than performance, and some viewers feel a similar pattern is emerging with Peddi. With a release date set for June 4, 2026, the film’s reception will ultimately reveal whether these creative choices resonate with audiences or invite further criticism.
