Prabhas to Rejoin Kalki 2898 AD Sequel Shoot as Filming Resumes October 17

Prabhas, the star of the futuristic epic Kalki 2898 AD, is set to return to the sequel's sets as filming resumes on October 17 in Hyderabad. The project, directed by Nag Ashwin and produced by C Ashwini Dutt, has experienced delays due to Prabhas's packed schedule and his ongoing work on other films, including Spirit with director Sandeep Reddy Vanga.

Earlier, key sequences for the Kalki 2898 AD sequel were shot with Kamal Haasan and Amitabh Bachchan, with a crucial schedule wrapped up months ago. However, plans to resume filming in September with Prabhas did not materialize, as confirmed by the director. The production team has now locked in new dates, with Sai Pallavi joining the cast to replace Deepika Padukone. According to the latest update, Sai Pallavi has already allocated her dates for the upcoming Hyderabad schedule.

Following the Hyderabad stint, the team will move to Mumbai in November to shoot important portions featuring Amitabh Bachchan. Kamal Haasan is not expected to participate in the current schedules, while Prabhas is anticipated to join either in December or early next year, depending on his availability.

The Kalki 2898 AD sequel, backed by Vyjayanthi Movies, is targeting a 2028 release. The film continues to generate buzz among Telugu cinema fans, especially with the high-profile cast changes and the scale of the production. The next major update is expected once the Hyderabad schedule kicks off on October 17.
