Key Highlights

  • Kalki 2898 AD sequel shoot halted, awaiting Prabhas's dates
  • Production teams face uncertainty over new shooting timelines

Prabhas, known for his ambitious multi-project approach since Baahubali, is now making significant changes to his film lineup. After the underwhelming performance of The Raja Saab, the star has shifted his focus to completing Fauzi, aiming for an early 2027 release. Originally, Fauzi was set for a summer release this year, then postponed to December, and is now planned for early next year. This series of delays has reportedly strained producers financially, as per industry sources.

Meanwhile, Prabhas's commitment to Fauzi has had a ripple effect on his other major projects. Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, was initially scheduled for a March 2027 release. However, due to Fauzi's pending completion and Spirit's own unfinished shoot, the timeline for Spirit has been pushed back. The disruption doesn't end there—Prabhas had also allocated dates for the sequel to Kalki 2898 AD, with director Nag Ashwin already completing a couple of schedules featuring Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan. With Prabhas now fully occupied with Fauzi, the shoot for the Kalki sequel has come to a standstill, leaving the team uncertain about when filming will resume.

Currently, Prabhas is dedicating his efforts to Fauzi, with plans to return to Spirit soon. There is no confirmed update regarding the resumption of the Kalki 2898 AD sequel's shoot. This reshuffling has left all of Prabhas's upcoming projects in a state of flux, with production teams awaiting clarity on new schedules.
