SS Rajamouli, renowned for his visionary filmmaking, has teamed up with a high-tech VFX studio to create the visual effects for his upcoming film, Varanasi. Known for pushing the boundaries in Indian cinema, Rajamouli continues his legacy of grand storytelling with this ambitious project starring Mahesh Babu. The film also features Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran in pivotal roles, promising a stellar ensemble.

Varanasi is being produced by KL Narayana under Sri Durga Arts, with MM Keeravani composing the music. The production draws inspiration from the rich architectural heritage of India’s ancient temples, especially those in Varanasi, which is reflected in the film’s majestic set design. The team is currently filming in Shankarpally, and the film is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on April 7, 2027.

The VFX studio collaborating with Rajamouli is built to international standards and equipped with the latest technology to ensure top-quality graphics. Most of the visual effects are being handled by Rajamouli’s own home studio, supplemented by contributions from other international VFX houses.
