Superstar Rajinikanth’s much-anticipated sequel, Jailer 2, is now strongly tipped for a grand Diwali release, following a series of schedule changes that have kept fans on edge. The original Jailer, directed by Nelson, shattered records with worldwide collections exceeding ₹600 crore, setting sky-high expectations for the follow-up.
Initially slated for a June arrival, the release was later speculated for the Independence Day week. However, as production took longer than planned, new contenders like Sardar 2 and Demonte Colony 3 booked the September 10 and 11 slots. October was also considered, but with Dhanush’s OM locked for an October 15 launch and the lack of a major holiday, that window seems out of reach. As per reports, "the October slot also appears to be ruled out," leaving Diwali as the most likely festive occasion.
If the Diwali plan holds, Jailer 2 will face a high-stakes box office battle with Ranbir Kapoor’s mythological epic Ramayana. Social media is already buzzing about the face-off, and anticipation is further amplified by rumors of a special cameo from Hrithik Roshan in the new film.
With the official announcement on the exact release date still pending, fans are eagerly awaiting confirmation. All eyes now turn to the festive season for what promises to be a blockbuster clash.
