Rajinikanth's Jailer 2 Telugu Rights Bagged by Naga Vamsi for Record Price

Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Jailer 2 has made headlines as young producer Naga Vamsi clinched the Telugu theatrical rights for a notable sum. The film, directed by Nelson, is set for a grand theatrical release on October 15, 2026. Naga Vamsi, known for his strong rapport with director Nelson, reportedly paid a substantial advance and finalized the deal, outpacing other prominent producers like Asian Suniel and Dil Raju who were also in the race for the rights.

Jailer 2, produced by Sun Pictures, continues the collaboration between Rajinikanth and director Nelson, following the success of their previous venture. The film’s background score is being composed by Anirudh, adding to the anticipation among fans. According to industry sources, Naga Vamsi’s swift negotiations and established relationship with Nelson played a key role in securing the rights for what is described as a 'fancy price.'

Despite rumors circulating about portions of the film being reshot and speculation regarding the release date, the makers have reaffirmed that Jailer 2 will arrive in theatres on October 15. This reconfirmation comes as the festive season approaches, a period often favored for major releases in the Telugu states. Earlier this year, reports highlighted the buzz surrounding Jailer 2 after the success of its predecessor, with Rajinikanth’s star power keeping the project in the spotlight.

An official announcement regarding the Telugu rights acquisition is expected soon, solidifying Naga Vamsi’s position in the industry and heightening expectations for Jailer 2’s performance in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
