Rajinikanth to Miss Jailer 2 Telugu Pre-Release Event in Hyderabad

Rajinikanth, the iconic star leading the cast of Jailer 2, will not attend the Telugu pre-release event scheduled for tomorrow in Hyderabad. This development comes as a surprise to many, especially with the film set for a grand theatrical release on October 16, 2026. Rajinikanth's recent projects have consistently drawn massive attention across South Indian cinema, and his absence from such a key promotional event has left Telugu fans stunned.

The event, to be held at Shilpa Kala Vedika, is expected to feature several prominent members of the cast and crew. Director Nelson Dilipkumar, who helms the sequel after the original Jailer’s success, will be present alongside producer S Naga Vamsi. Music composer Anirudh Ravichander is slated to deliver a live performance, aiming to energize the audience and build excitement ahead of the film’s release.

Key cast members including SJ Suryah, Ramya Krishnan, Suraj Venjaramoodu, and Mirnaa Menon are confirmed to attend. The film, produced by Sun Pictures, also features appearances by Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, Hrithik Roshan, Nora Fatehi, and Poorna, adding to its star-studded appeal.

Advance bookings for Jailer 2 in the Nizam region opened today, signaling strong anticipation in the Telugu states. However, the production team has not provided any official explanation for Rajinikanth’s absence, shifting much of the spotlight to the rest of the ensemble and the evening’s musical attractions. It remains to be seen how this unexpected change will influence ticket sales and the film’s buzz leading up to its Dussehra release.
