Superstar Rajinikanth has increasingly collaborated with Tollywood actors in his recent film projects, marking a notable trend in his casting choices. Following the success of 'Jailer', Rajinikanth has been actively working on multiple films, each featuring prominent Telugu stars in significant roles.

In the Tamil film 'Vettaiyaan', Rana Daggubati from Tollywood played a powerful character alongside Rajinikanth. Despite the star-studded cast, the film did not perform as expected in the Telugu market and was considered a disappointment there. Last year, King Nagarjuna took on the role of the main antagonist in 'Coolie', further highlighting Rajinikanth's preference for Telugu talent in pivotal roles.

The casting process for 'Jailer 2' also reflected this approach. The team initially approached Nandamuri Balakrishna for a major cop role. However, after Balakrishna declined the offer, the makers finalized Tamil actor Vijay Sethupathi for the part. According to reports, the upcoming film 'Dharman' will see young Tollywood actor Ram Pothineni joining the cast in an important role, with rumors suggesting he will portray Rajinikanth's son-in-law.

Industry sources note that Rajinikanth and his team have consistently chosen Tollywood actors for crucial roles in his recent films, though this appears to be coincidental rather than a deliberate strategy. Earlier this year, reports covered the completion of shooting for 'Jailer 2', which boasts a multi-starrer lineup including Kamal Haasan and Vidya Balan.
