Ram Charan’s much-anticipated sports action drama, Peddi, is all set for a grand release on June 4, generating significant excitement among fans. The film, helmed by director Buchi Babu Sana, marks Charan’s return to a rustic, emotionally driven role after his acclaimed performance in 'Rangasthalam'.
Production designer Kolla Avinash recently opened up about his experience working on Peddi, describing the story as so powerful that it left him stunned for over 20 minutes. "For the first time in the last few years, it took me 20-25 minutes to return to normal after hearing Peddi’s story. It stunned me. I felt I shouldn’t miss this film at any cost. Peddi has so much potential," Avinash shared in interviews.
Set against the raw, vibrant backdrop of Vizianagaram’s villages in the 1970s and 80s, the film features 24 elaborate sets constructed over a year of meticulous pre-production. Avinash emphasized the authenticity of the cricket sequences, differentiating them from films like Lagaan. He also praised Ram Charan's dedication, revealing, "It happened during a wrestling sequence. Even then, he returned to the set immediately because any delay would disrupt the schedules of the entire team. His dedication is truly commendable."
With director Buchi Babu Sana at the helm and a story that reportedly moved even seasoned technicians, anticipation for Peddi is at an all-time high. The team believes the film will offer a memorable emotional journey, with Avinash noting, "Peddi is a one-of-its-kind film. When you walk out of the theatre, your eyes will definitely be moist." Fans can look forward to catching this intense drama in cinemas this June.
