Ram Charan’s much-awaited film Peddi is generating huge excitement, thanks to its blend of raw action and unconventional drama. After his recent impactful performances, Charan is set to push boundaries once again under Buchi Babu Sana’s direction, with the film gearing up for a grand release on June 4.
Cinematographer Ratnavelu, who has teamed up with Charan after previous collaborations, shared fascinating insights into the making of Peddi. According to him, all the wrestling scenes featuring Charan were shot without any VFX, showcasing the star’s intense physical dedication. Remarkably, Charan achieved his wrestler physique in a short span and did it while following a vegetarian diet. Ratnavelu called these efforts a “career-best performance,” and teased that the high-voltage pre-climax and climax segments will leave audiences deeply moved.
The film’s teasers featuring Charan’s bold, street-style cricket shots sparked an online frenzy. Ratnavelu explained, “Peddi is a guy who is not a perfect cricketer. He is a village brat and plays gully cricket... So he does all kinds of stunts, puts a beedi in his mouth, and whacks the ball for a six.” Inspired by real-life local players, these scenes have become a talking point among fans.
With Janhvi Kapoor starring opposite Charan and a stellar supporting cast including Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, Divyyendu Sharma, and Boman Irani, Peddi is the flagship venture from Vriddhi Cinemas, with legendary AR Rahman composing the soundtrack. As anticipation mounts, all eyes are now on the emotional and kinetic spectacle that awaits when Peddi hits cinemas soon.
