Ram Charan’s much-awaited film Peddi is now set for a trouble-free theatrical release, following a decisive intervention by the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber, led by Suresh Babu, announced that all disputes involving producers and exhibitors in Telangana have been resolved, paving the way for Peddi’s grand release on June 4th.
Coming off a strong run of commercially successful projects, Ram Charan’s involvement has kept fans and trade circles buzzing about Peddi’s box office prospects. The latest breakthrough came after a newly formed sub-committee held crucial meetings with all stakeholders producers, distributors, and exhibitors to address concerns about ticket pricing and revenue sharing.
As per the Chamber’s official statement, "All the members unanimously agreed for the release of Peddi without any hindrance." The agreement stipulates that if ticket prices are increased in Andhra Pradesh or Telangana, theatres will receive a 7.5% share of the additional revenue. For premiere shows, fixed payments have been set—₹25,000 for A centres, ₹15,000 for B centres, and ₹10,000 for C centres. Preferential treatment will also be given to films already 70% complete, ensuring smoother releases for such projects.
With these hurdles cleared, all eyes are on Peddi’s performance as it gears up to hit screens. The Chamber has also indicated that a new percentage system may be implemented before the next big release, promising further changes ahead for the industry.
