Ram Charan’s much-anticipated rural sports drama, Peddi, has hit an unexpected pause, with its April 30, 2026 release date now shrouded in uncertainty. This development has set fans and industry insiders abuzz, especially as Ram Charan has been waiting on successful film and director Buchi Babu Sana is fresh off his acclaimed previous work.
Speculation about a possible postponement intensified after North American advance bookings were abruptly halted at the production team’s request. With the makers holding discussions with Netflix, which reportedly acquired the digital rights for a record amount, the streaming giant is said to play a key role in finalizing the film’s new release date. Despite rumors that Netflix might reduce its deal due to the delay, sources have dismissed such claims, clarifying that Netflix is simply finalizing a suitable date. A June 25 release is now under serious consideration.
As per reports, director Buchi Babu Sana is overseeing the final post-production touches, while A. R. Rahman is crafting the vital background score in Chennai. The team is also working on a special song and patchwork sequences, aiming for top-notch quality despite deadline pressures. The star-studded cast includes Janhvi Kapoor, Shiva Rajkumar, Divyenndu Sharma, Jagapathi Babu, and Boman Irani, with production by Vriddhi Cinemas, Mythri Movie Makers, and Sukumar Writings.
An official announcement regarding the revised release date is expected soon, promising clarity for fans and the Telugu industry’s summer slate.
