Ram Charan’s much-awaited sports drama Peddi is capturing the spotlight ahead of its June 4, 2026 release. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, the film has already sent ripples through Tollywood with its distinct narrative and star-studded ensemble.
Following his acclaimed directorial debut, Buchi Babu Sana returns to helm Peddi, promising a fresh take on the sports genre. The story follows a youngster from Vizianagaram who finds purpose through his sport, a theme that the director insists sets it apart from classics like Dangal and Lagaan. "Peddi is about a youngster from Vizianagaram who deals with his issues through the sport that he knows. His game becomes his revolution," Buchi Babu Sana explained, highlighting the unique core that drives the film.
Adding to the excitement, ace cinematographer R. Rathnavelu shared that legendary composer A. R. Rahman created two energetic tracks, Chikiri and Rai Rai Rara, in just three hours during a Dubai session—leaving the team awestruck by his creativity. The film features Janhvi Kapoor opposite Ram Charan, with support from Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, Divvyendu Sharma, and Boman Irani, and is produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under Vriddhi Cinemas.
Peddi’s North America premiere pre-sales have already surpassed $300,000, pointing to massive overseas anticipation. With the trailer set to drop Monday and multiple promotional events lined up, expectations are sky-high as Peddi readies for its grand unveiling.
