Ram Pothineni Launches Directorial Debut RAPO23, Bypasses Sravanthi Movies
Ram Pothineni’s much-awaited film, tentatively titled RAPO23, was launched in style with a grand pooja ceremony, making waves as the energetic star embarks on his journey as a writer-director. Breaking away from his earlier collaborations, Ram has chosen to helm and produce RAPO23 under his own banner, RAPO Cinematics, rather than the familiar Sri Sravanthi Movies associated with his uncle, veteran producer Sravanthi Ravi Kishore.
Ram, who has delivered hits like Ready and Nenu Sailaja but also faced setbacks in recent outings, is determined to bring fresh perspectives to Telugu cinema. Insiders reveal that after reviewing several scripts with his uncle and director Kishore Tirumala, Ram opted to reject conventional stories in favor of "new-age content". As per sources, he has built his own creative team and is keen to share his vision directly with audiences.
The launch event was a star-studded affair: producer Krishna Pothineni formally presented the script to Ram, P Murali Mohan handled the camera for the inaugural shot, and PV Ravi Kishore sounded the clapboard. Ram himself directed the very first scene, marking a significant milestone in his career. Cinematographer Thirru has joined the project, and the film is touted as the highest-budgeted venture of Ram’s career, with an ensemble cast to be revealed soon.
RAPO23 is scheduled for a December release, provided all goes according to plan. With the shoot now underway and industry buzz growing, fans can expect more updates and official cast announcements in the coming weeks.
