Ranbir Kapoor’s much-anticipated mythological epic, Ramayana, is reportedly setting its sights on China for a grand theatrical rollout. With previous Hindi blockbusters like Dangal making waves and rewriting box office records in the Chinese market, industry insiders see this move as Bollywood’s renewed push for global recognition.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and featuring an ensemble cast including Yash and Sai Pallavi, Ramayana has generated immense curiosity since its announcement. The production team, aiming to maximize the film’s global impact, is said to be in discussions with Chinese exhibitors for a strategic promotional tour. As per reports, Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, and Sai Pallavi are expected to lead a four-day promotional blitz, which will commence with a press meet and a special screening at the Pingyao International Film Festival on September 24, before embarking on a multi-city tour during China’s Golden Week starting October 1.
Industry buzz suggests that if Ramayana manages to connect with Chinese audiences, it could replicate Dangal’s monumental success and open new revenue streams for Indian cinema. The makers are reportedly keen to present the film as a global spectacle. The outcome of this ambitious China release could set a new benchmark for Bollywood’s international ventures.
