Ranbir Kapoor’s ambitious project Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, encountered strong reactions from fans following its release schedule announcement. The film, which also stars Yash and Sai Pallavi, was distributed internationally by Sony Pictures. According to the official plan, Ramayana premiered overseas on November 6, while Indian audiences had to wait until Diwali, November 8, for its theatrical release.

This two-day gap between the international and domestic release dates did not sit well with fans. Many expressed disappointment and concern on social media, fearing that the delayed Indian release could lead to piracy leaks and spoil the viewing experience for local audiences. Fans urged producer Namit Malhotra to reconsider and opt for a simultaneous worldwide launch to prevent potential issues.

Namit Malhotra addressed these concerns in a media interaction, stating that the film would indeed arrive in Indian cinemas on Diwali, November 8. However, his confirmation of the staggered release only intensified the debate, with fans continuing to voice their apprehensions online.
