Ranbir Kapoor’s much-awaited epic, Ramayana, has become the talk of the town after its grand showcase at CinemaCon 2026. The film, directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced on a staggering budget exceeding ₹4000 crore, is drawing attention for its scale and ambition.
The project marks another bold step for director Nitesh Tiwari, whose previous works have consistently impressed both critics and audiences. With an ensemble that includes Sai Pallavi, Yash, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravie Dubey as Lakshmana, Ramayana is shaping up to be a cinematic spectacle. Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios, along with Monster Mind Creations and Oscar-winning VFX giant DNEG, are backing the production, ensuring top-notch visual grandeur.
After Ramayana’s CinemaCon presentation, social media was abuzz with speculation that Warner Bros would handle global distribution. This rumor quickly gained momentum, fueled by the unprecedented international interest the film generated. However, there is currently no official confirmation of such a deal, and the reports remain unfounded, as clarified by sources close to the production.
Shot for IMAX and Dolby Cinema formats, Ramayana promises a premium viewing experience. The film’s first installment is scheduled for a grand Diwali 2026 release, with further casting news and updates expected in the months ahead.
