Ranbir Kapoor, who is set to portray Lord Ram in Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious mythological project "Ramayana," has provided a significant update on the film’s sequel. While promoting the film in the US, Ranbir announced that "Ramayana: Part Two" is already halfway through production. This news comes as the team continues post-production work on the first installment, which is scheduled to hit theatres during Diwali 2026.

The actor highlighted the epic scale of the project, noting that the Ramayana could easily be adapted into a ten-part franchise. However, he clarified that director Nitesh Tiwari and his creative team have carefully chosen which portions of the ancient epic to bring to the screen, ensuring fidelity to the source material. Ranbir stated, "Ramayana: Part Two is already 50% complete," underlining the team’s commitment to maintaining momentum and meeting the planned Diwali 2027 release for the sequel.

The film features a stellar cast, with Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman. Production is being handled by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios in partnership with Yash’s Monster Mind Creations.
