Ranbir Kapoor has been unveiled as Lord Rama in the much-anticipated cinematic adaptation of the Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari. Known for his versatile performances in recent hits, Ranbir’s portrayal of Rama marks a significant addition to his career as he embodies the epic’s ideals of duty and compassion.
Produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios in collaboration with Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, this two-part saga features a stellar ensemble including Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as the demon king Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravie Dubey as Lakshmana. The recently released teaser highlights iconic moments such as Sita’s swayamvar, Rama’s exile, and his heroic battles in the forest, all depicted through breathtaking visuals without dialogue.
The film’s grandeur is amplified by the Oscar-winning compositions of Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman, with DNEG’s visual effects designed for an immersive IMAX experience. The teaser’s depiction of Rama’s emotional journey, including his farewell to Ayodhya and Ravana’s Pushpaka Vimanam, has generated excitement among fans eagerly awaiting the film’s Diwali 2026 release. The sequel is slated for Diwali 2027, promising a monumental retelling of this timeless epic.
