Ravi Teja’s latest blockbuster, Irumudi, directed by Shiva Nirvana, has become a standout hit in Telugu cinema. Known for his energetic performances, Ravi Teja leads this emotional family thriller, which has resonated deeply with audiences since its release. The film’s unique narrative approach has sparked conversations, particularly about the notable absence of police characters—a detail that has intrigued many viewers.
In a recent interview, director Shiva Nirvana addressed this creative decision. He explained that the film deliberately avoids police involvement to maintain a specific narrative focus. "Initially, when Sai Kumar garu’s daughter asks him to file a complaint about the eve-teasers, he rejects it, saying that it will be known to everyone. Through this, you should understand that I know clearly about cops. I was clear that I didn’t want the audience to go through the investigative side. I wanted them to travel along with the characters. Including cops would have diverted the viewers’ minds," Shiva Nirvana stated.
He further elaborated on the plot’s structure, noting, "MLA is the reason behind all the deaths. Whether he managed the police department and framed killings as suicides or not happens during that lapse. I deliberately decided not to go ahead with the police procedural. I was very clear on what should happen in the auditorium and left out the cop angle."
Irumudi, which also features Priya Bhavani Shankar and Sai Kumar in key roles, has been praised for its emotional depth and engaging storytelling. The film’s devotional undertones and family-centric themes have contributed to its strong box office performance, drawing comparisons to classics like Nagarjuna’s Annamayya. Shiva Nirvana’s decision to forgo a police subplot has become a talking point among fans and critics, highlighting his commitment to immersive, character-driven cinema.
