Sai Pallavi is set to take the spotlight in Dhanush’s highly anticipated 55th film, tentatively titled D55, where she is reportedly cast as a police officer. This marks a fresh turn for the actress, who has recently been immersed in the mythological epic Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor and scheduled for a grand Diwali 2026 release.

While Sai Pallavi has been selective with her recent film choices, her return to South Indian cinema with D55 has generated considerable buzz. The film is helmed by Rajkumar Periasamy, known for his work on Amaran, and boasts a star-studded cast including Malayalam legend Mammootty, who plays a pivotal role. Some major sequences featuring Dhanush and Mammootty have already been filmed in Chennai, building anticipation among fans.

Production for D55 is handled by Wunderbar Films, RTake Studios, and Gopuram Films, with Anbuchezhiyan backing the project. The music is being composed by Sai Abhyankkar, adding to the film’s appeal. Reports suggest D55 will shine a light on unsung heroes in society, and the possibility of Sai Pallavi as a cop has only heightened curiosity, although an official announcement from the team is awaited.

With D55 shaping up as one of the most awaited action thrillers and Ramayana on the horizon, fans can expect a power-packed year from Sai Pallavi.
