Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is set to deepen his association with South Indian cinema, as he currently works on a film with Telugu director Vamshi Paidipally. The shoot is underway in Mumbai, and the makers are targeting an Eid 2027 release. Notably, Nayanthara stars as the female lead, with production handled by Dil Raju.

In recent years, Salman Khan has faced challenges delivering a major box office hit, prompting him to look beyond traditional Bollywood collaborations. According to reports, "several South producers are keen to produce a film with the Bollywood veteran actor and he has expressed his interest." With top Bollywood directors occupied with other projects, Salman has welcomed discussions with South Indian filmmakers.

A few Telugu directors have reportedly met Salman Khan for potential partnerships, though no new projects have been officially confirmed yet. Among the most anticipated is a film backed by Mythri Movie Makers, for which Salman received a substantial advance. This project, to be directed by the duo Raj and DK, remains in the pipeline, with an official announcement expected before the end of 2026.

Industry sources indicate that after wrapping up his current commitments, Salman Khan is eager to collaborate with another South director, further strengthening his ties with the Southern film industries.
