Samantha’s return to Telugu cinema with the much-awaited film Maa Inti Bangaram has hit an unexpected pause, as the makers have decided to postpone its release. The film, produced by Samantha’s own Tralala Pictures, was previously scheduled to hit screens on May 15th, marking her comeback after a hiatus.
Directed by Nandini Reddy, who has collaborated with Samantha in the past, Maa Inti Bangaram generated curiosity due to its unique premise and the involvement of Samantha’s husband, Raj Nidimoru, as the scriptwriter. However, despite a decent round of promotions, the film struggled to create strong buzz among audiences. Industry sources point to the ongoing IPL season as a major factor impacting potential footfalls, prompting the team to rethink their release strategy.
Following the halt in promotional activities, reports now suggest Maa Inti Bangaram will likely target a July release window, though an official announcement is still awaited. Meanwhile, non-theatrical rights for the film have already been secured at respectable prices, reflecting continued industry confidence in the project.
Fans eager for Samantha’s big screen comeback will have to wait a bit longer, but expectations remain high as the team prepares to announce a fresh release date soon.
