Sandeep Reddy Vanga Calls Varanasi a Bigger Film Than Spirit

Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the director behind recent blockbusters like Arjun Reddy and Animal, has made headlines again by declaring that his upcoming film Varanasi will be bigger than Spirit. Speaking at the trailer launch event for Sumanth Prabhas’ Romanchakam, where he appeared as the presenter, Sandeep addressed questions about the close release dates of his two major projects.

When asked if the gap between Spirit and Varanasi was sufficient, Sandeep responded, “It will be sufficient. There are around 37 days gap. Also, that film (Varanasi) is bigger than Spirit.” His light-hearted exchange with the media, including a playful jab at repeated questions, drew laughter from those present and showcased his candid side.

Spirit, starring Prabhas and directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, is scheduled for release in March 2027. This film has already generated significant anticipation, especially after earlier reports highlighted Sandeep’s dedication to the project and the involvement of stars like Tripti Dimri and Vivek Oberoi. Varanasi, meanwhile, is set to arrive in April 2027, just 37 days after Spirit, positioning both as major releases in the first half of the year.

The timing of these releases is drawing attention, especially with SS Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu’s big-budget film also slated for April 2027.
