Satya and Yogi Babu, two of the most popular comedians from Telugu and Tamil cinema, are joining forces for the upcoming film Golden Bhagyam. Directed by Pawan Basamsetti, known for his work on Rangabali, this project promises a lively mix of crime, romance, and action, all delivered with a comedic twist. The film's title was recently revealed through a playful promotional video that highlights the cultural blend at the heart of the story.
Golden Bhagyam is described as a 'Telumil' entertainer, merging talent and languages from both Telugu and Tamil industries. The title announcement video features a humorous exchange between a Telugu man and a Tamil man debating their favourite foods, before introducing Satya and Yogi Babu. In a fun reversal, Satya speaks Tamil while Yogi Babu delivers his lines in Telugu, setting the tone for the film's cross-cultural comedy. Director Pawan Basamsetti shared that the story will weave together elements of love, crime, and action.
The cast also includes Jayashree and Athiraj as the female leads, with Vennela Kishore, Sudharshan, Kishore Tirumala, Rohini, Tanikella Bharani, and Sunil Reddy in supporting roles. The film is produced by Nagarjuna Reddy and Pawan Basamsetti under the banners Dream Movie Makers and Nayavayu Chitralu. Bablu Aju is handling cinematography, Pawan CH is composing the music, Kamesh is in charge of production design, and Ravi Teja Girijala is the editor.
Initially planned for a Sankranthi release, Golden Bhagyam is now scheduled to hit screens later this year in both Telugu and Tamil. The makers' decision to shift the release beyond the festival window has sparked curiosity among fans eager to see this unique collaboration.
