Suhas, who recently drew attention for his intense performance as the antagonist in Mandaadi, is now stepping into lighter territory with the romantic comedy Hide & Silk. The film’s title promo, launched today, introduces audiences to Suhas in the role of a handloom weaver, a character distinctly different from his previous outing.
Joining Suhas is Sanjana Krishnamoorthy, known for her roles in Lubber Pandu and DC, as the female lead. The promo also features veteran actor Tanikella Bharani, who plays Suhas’s father. In a touching moment, Bharani’s character shares with his son that every saree has a destined wearer and only achieves its true beauty when adorned by that particular woman. This sets the stage for the film’s central premise: Suhas’s character weaves his first saree and becomes eager to meet the woman who will eventually wear it, but wishes to do so without her knowledge.
The promo’s visuals have been described as beautiful, with Suhas’s natural charm and Sanjana’s screen presence standing out. The concept has already sparked interest among viewers, especially those who have been waiting to see Suhas return to the rom-com genre.
Hide & Silk marks the Telugu debut of Stone Bench Studio’s Kaarthikeyan Santhanam and Vartika Jain’s Misrilall Pictures. The film is directed by first-timer Rajendra Bala, with music composed by Amrit Ramnath. The combination of a fresh directorial voice and a heartfelt romantic theme is drawing attention as the film moves forward in its promotional journey.
