Sukumar and Devi Sri Prasad Part Ways for RC17 Starring Ram Charan

Ram Charan's upcoming film RC17, directed by Sukumar, is set to mark a significant shift in Tollywood's creative partnerships. Sukumar, known for consistently working with music director Devi Sri Prasad (DSP) across his filmography, will be collaborating with a new composer for this project. Over the years, the Sukumar-DSP duo delivered several chart-topping albums, becoming one of the most celebrated director-composer teams in Telugu cinema.

Recent reports indicate that Sukumar is in advanced discussions with Shashwat Sachdev, known for his work in 'Dhurandhar', to handle the music for RC17. This change comes after speculation about a rift between Sukumar and DSP, particularly during the background score phase of 'Pushpa 2: The Rule'. According to sources, Sukumar opted to work with multiple composers to complete the score on schedule, which reportedly led to a widening gap between him and DSP after the film's release.

While DSP is currently busy acting and composing for the film 'Yellamma', Sukumar appears keen to bring fresh talent into his next venture. RC17, produced by Mythri Movie Makers, is scheduled to begin production in December 2026. The project has drawn attention not only for its star cast but also for this notable change in its music department.

Earlier this year, it was reported that Ram Charan and Sukumar would reunite for RC17, following their successful collaboration on 'Rangasthalam'. As the film gears up for its launch, the end of Sukumar and DSP's partnership marks the close of a remarkable chapter in Telugu film music.
