Suriya, who is set to appear in the upcoming film Vishwanath and Sons, opened up about an interesting behind-the-scenes story during the Telugu pre-release event in Hyderabad. The film, directed by Venky Atluri and featuring Mamitha Baiju as the female lead, marks a new collaboration for both the actor and director.
Speaking at the event, Suriya revealed that he was initially in discussions with Venky Atluri for a biopic project. "After Lucky Baskhar, whatever script he had come up with, I would have said okay. I was quietly manifesting to work with him. That’s when Naga Vamsi garu called me and said he had got Venky’s dates. At that time, he had a script related to a biopic. That’s another story. We didn’t do the biopic," Suriya said, giving fans a glimpse into the decision-making process.
The specific subject of the biopic remains undisclosed, sparking curiosity among fans and industry watchers. According to reports, Venky Atluri decided not to pursue the biographical film as it would have been another period drama, similar to his previous two projects. The director was keen to avoid repetition and explore a different genre. Suriya also expressed a desire to work on a family-oriented film, which ultimately led to the creation of Vishwanath and Sons.
The candid revelation has generated buzz about what could have been, while also building anticipation for the film’s release.
