Suriya’s Karuppu Faces Major Release Setback

Suriya’s much-awaited mass entertainer Karuppu has been hit by a sudden crisis, with all its 9 AM shows cancelled across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu due to unresolved financial issues. This unexpected setback has left fans, who were eagerly anticipating his strong comeback after a series of underwhelming releases, deeply frustrated and vocal online.

The film, helmed by RJ Balaji and backed by Dream Warrior Pictures, sees Suriya in dual looks alongside a star-studded lineup featuring Trisha Krishnan, Natty Subramaniam, RJ Balaji, Swasika, Supreeth Reddy, and Yogi Babu. The trouble began when theatre chains in Tamil Nadu put bookings on hold, and producer S. R. Prabhu officially announced the morning show cancellations, issuing a public apology: > "Due to unavoidable reasons 9am shows will be cancelled for Karuppu. Our sincere apologies to everyone!" S. R. The situation worsened as the overseas premieres, especially in the USA, were also called off.
