Thiruveer, who has built a strong reputation for his intense performances, now finds his next film Bhagavanthudu under pressure after the underwhelming response to his recent release, Paapam Prathap. Despite a major promotional push by ETV Win and Thiruveer’s visible confidence during the campaign, Paapam Prathap failed to make its mark with audiences, marking a setback for the actor.
Previously, Thiruveer’s film The Great Pre Wedding Show garnered a positive buzz, but limited promotional efforts meant it exited theatres before that word-of-mouth could translate into box office success. Learning from that experience, the makers of Paapam Prathap tried to create a bigger splash, even releasing alongside Kiran Abbavaram’s Thimmarajupalli TV to capture the festive audience. However, this strategy did not pay off, and the film’s disappointing performance is now casting a shadow on Bhagavanthudu.
In Bhagavanthudu, Thiruveer takes on the role of a folk artist in a story rooted in the real-life events of the 1990s, with a rustic, authentic backdrop. As per reports, the producer is now struggling to secure the desired rates for the film. The lack of momentum from Paapam Prathap’s success has dampened market enthusiasm for Bhagavanthudu.
With the industry watching Thiruveer’s next moves, fans will be keen to see if Bhagavanthudu can overcome these challenges and reignite the actor’s box office fortunes in the coming months.
