Varalaxmi Sarathkumar under fire for Police Complaint promotional absence

Actress Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, known for her impactful performances in Telugu cinema, is in the spotlight for missing promotional events of her latest film, Police Complaint. The movie, which is gearing up for its release soon, has its director Sanjeev Megoti expressing disappointment over the actress's lack of involvement in publicity efforts.

Varalaxmi, who has been part of several acclaimed projects recently, reportedly accepted a hefty remuneration for Police Complaint. However, as per Sanjeev Megoti, she left the dubbing work unfinished to prioritise another project, Saraswathi, causing significant delays. The director stated, "Varalaxmi Sarathkumar took lakhs in remuneration, but she is reluctant to promote the movie. She dubbed for the first half but left midway to complete her film Saraswathi. She made us suffer for three months without completing the dubbing for the second half. For her, our movie is of little importance. I literally begged Varalaxmi to attend the press meet, but she said it wasn’t possible."

Sanjeev further highlighted how he accommodated Varalaxmi during the shoot, even altering the script when she suffered a hand fracture. He drew comparisons with industry stalwarts like Ram Charan and Singeetham Srinivasa Rao, who actively support their films' promotions. The director shared, "Varalaxmi is very particular about her remuneration, and I am okay with that. But by not attending the promotions, she is affecting our careers."

With Police Complaint set to hit screens soon, all eyes are on whether Varalaxmi will address the director's remarks or participate in any upcoming events. The film’s release will undoubtedly be watched closely by fans and industry insiders.
