Varun Tej’s film Korean Kanakaraju released on August 7, 2023, with strong expectations riding on both the star and the project. Coming off a period where the Mega Family had seen hits with films like MSG and Peddi, Varun Tej expressed his hope that Korean Kanakaraju would continue this momentum. The film, directed by Merlapaka Gandhi and produced by UV Creations in association with First Frame Entertainments, featured Varun in a dual role—one as an Ananthapur local and another as a Korean mobster.
