Vijay Devarakonda is set to return to the big screen with "Ranabaali," releasing this Friday, October 16. The actor, known for his dynamic performances and recent ventures like "Taxiwaala," addressed fans and the industry at the film's pre-release event held at Shilpakala Vedika in Hyderabad. Directed by Rahul Sankrityan, "Ranabaali" features Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead and is produced by Naveen and Ravi under the Mythri Movie Makers banner.
At the event, Vijay Devarakonda expressed his gratitude to the directors in attendance and highlighted the festive atmosphere building around the film's release. He stated, “The festival atmosphere has started. Ranabaali will make Telugu film industry proud. Rahul wanted to make a mass period action drama and did a lot of research before writing Ranabaali. That’s when he got to know about an unknown chapter in history.”
Vijay also reflected on his journey, recalling the period after "NOTA" and how he faced criticism. He shared, “During Taxiwaala release, I faced criticism because of NOTA failure. That time, I wrote a letter stating that I will be back, knowing people are enjoying my failure.” He further added, “I reminded my naysayers that I will be bloody back when I say it. I’m sure Rahul is building such base once again for me. If things go well, I will once again remind my haters about it in Anantapur. Confidence in ourselves and dedication to work are the only things in our hands.”
Vijay thanked producers Naveen and Ravi, and praised Mythri Movie Makers for pushing the boundaries of Telugu cinema. He also highlighted the contribution of music directors Ajay-Atul, mentioning the song "Endhayya Saami" as a special addition to his career. Speaking about Rashmika Mandanna, Vijay said he is proud of her growth as an actor and that working with her feels like home.
