Vikram Sahidev, who has been steadily building his presence in Telugu cinema, is set for a unique theatrical experiment with his latest film Anakapalli. The rustic action drama, directed by Khagesh Tammineni and written by Trinadha Rao Nakkina, will premiere exclusively in Anakapalli on August 7, 2026, according to producer Lagadapati Sridhar.

This unconventional release strategy stands out in the Telugu film industry, where films typically aim for a simultaneous multi-region launch. The makers have decided to limit the initial release to Anakapalli, aiming to gauge local audience response before considering a wider rollout across the Telugu states and Tamil Nadu. Producer Lagadapati Sridhar confirmed, "Anakapalli will release only in Anakapalli on August 7, 2026."

With less than a day to go for the premiere, advance bookings had not yet opened in Anakapalli, adding to the anticipation and uncertainty surrounding the film’s performance. The outcome of this experimental approach could influence future release strategies for regional films.

The film features a strong ensemble cast including Sandhya Vasishta, Tarak Ponnappa, Indraja, Absar, Srinivas Vadlamani, and Naidu Kandregula.
