Yash Calls Ramayana a Grand Celebration of Human Grit Ahead of Diwali Release

Yash, who stars as Ravana in the upcoming epic 'Ramayana', described the film as a powerful celebration of human resilience and the enduring legacy of Lord Ram. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra and Yash himself, the film also features Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi in pivotal roles, promising audiences a cinematic spectacle this Diwali.

Having won acclaim for his intense performances in recent blockbusters, Yash is now taking on one of mythology’s most complex roles. At a recent Comic Con event, he reflected on his personal connection to the Ramayana, stating, "We have been fascinated by this story and my grandfather first told me Ramayana as a bedtime story. I loved it and got engrossed into it. We tried to find the emotional core that makes this story so universal and close to our hearts even after thousands of years. We tried to preserve and celebrate it on big screens."

Yash’s approach to Ravana avoids caricature, focusing instead on the flawed humanity of the character. "I did not see him as a man who is unrelatable but a person who made bad choices with his gigantic ego. I tried to approach him that way and it is interesting to play. The film will be a great deep dive into ideologies of two strong-minded powerful people fighting against each other," he said.

The team emphasized that 'Ramayana' aims to set a new benchmark for Indian cinema, balancing its mythological scale with deep emotional storytelling. With post-production in full swing, anticipation is high for its Diwali release, as the makers promise an immersive retelling of an age-old saga.
