Yash’s much-awaited film Toxic has been postponed yet again, with the latest buzz suggesting the makers are now considering the Independence Day week for its theatrical debut. The nationwide anticipation for this project, directed by Geetu Mohandas, only intensified after Yash himself addressed fans, highlighting the film’s significance and the need to align global distribution and partnerships.
Yash, who has consistently set new benchmarks with each outing since his KGF franchise, posted, “There are films we make, and then there are films that remind us why we fell in love with cinema. Toxic has been one such journey.” He explained that the team is recalibrating the release timeline to ensure the film receives the worldwide release it deserves, especially as Indian cinema is "finding its voice and stepping onto the global stage with such promise.”
The star-studded cast featuring Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth, and Tara Sutaria has only fueled the hype. Produced by KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups was initially slated for a June 4 release. However, after last-minute changes, fans expressed their disappointment across social media, especially since the film’s release was already postponed once before. The sudden exit from the June 4 slot also sparked a reshuffle in the release calendar, with other films like Peddi and Samantha’s Maa Inti Bangaram adjusting their plans in the wake of Toxic’s delay.
According to industry chatter, the Independence Day week is now seen as an ideal window, with no major Hollywood releases competing, although challenges remain from Hindi releases like Lahore 1947 and Awarapan 2. As the dust settles on the current round of reshuffles, fans eagerly await an official announcement. All eyes are on Yash and team to see if Toxic will indeed light up cinemas this August.
