Adivi Sesh’s action-packed thriller Dacoit is all set to make its digital premiere on Prime Video from May 8, following an impressive box office journey. The film, which released in cinemas on April 10, quickly became the talk of the town thanks to Sesh’s devoted fanbase and his reputation for delivering engaging thrillers like Major and HIT 2.
Directed by Shaneil Deo, Dacoit stars Adivi Sesh as Haridas, a man seeking vengeance after a betrayal by his lover, portrayed by Mrunal Thakur. The film’s narrative combines elements of a high-stakes heist and emotional drama, with chemistry between the leads and stylized action sequences drawing particular praise. Smaran’s background score and the movie’s gritty visuals have also earned appreciation, further amplifying the film’s appeal.
Despite mixed critical reviews, Dacoit managed to gross over ₹50 crore worldwide, marking Sesh’s second entry into the 50 crore club after Major. The film performed especially well in key urban centers and overseas markets, notably the US, where Sesh enjoys a loyal following. The OTT rights were reportedly acquired by Prime Video for around ₹22 crore, signaling continued demand for Sesh’s projects.
With its arrival on streaming, anticipation is high for Dacoit’s performance among digital audiences. As the film lands just in time for the weekend, fans are eager to see if it will swiftly enter Prime Video India’s top trending list.
